Tommy has always been a beacon of energy and enthusiasm, but the past year has been particularly challenging. He faced painful medical issues that required surgery, taking a toll on his patience and increasing his anxiety. His frustration often manifested in short tempers and loud outbursts, making it difficult for him to enjoy the activities he once loved.

Every day, Tommy wanted to join his group in their activities, but his energy quickly waned, and he expressed a desire to return to the Monarch Services hub. This cycle of fatigue and frustration seemed unbreakable until a dedicated RGA team member, Bonnie, stepped in. Bonnie worked with Tommy daily, helping him find kinder ways to ask for help and building a trusting relationship that became a cornerstone of his progress. “When we first met, Tommy appeared to be bothered by the smallest things,” Bonnie recalls. “Recently, he has been happier, and he is more calm.”

Though he still faces health issues, Tommy’s ability to manage his responses has improved significantly. He now enjoys spending time with his peers at Monarch Services, participating in planning sessions, and sharing his ideas for future activities.

Do you know a young adult who is transitioning from high-school programs to adult support systems?  Monarch Services are designed specifically for this community. If this sounds like a good fit for you or someone you know, they can online.
